Rants Of A Future Curmudgeon

Planet X and the Nibiru Idiocy

OK, for those of you who have never heard of it, there is a growing “controversy” over a theory that a huge asteroid is coming to pound our helpless little planet in 2012. This doomsday rock is known as Planet X to some, Nibiru to others. The whack jobs – cough, adherents – to this theory believe that this was all foretold by the Mayans, Nostradamus, The Bible, Elvis, or whomever.

Ever notice that these moronic websites usually include other conspiracy-theory-laden topics also? The common threads are incurable gullibility and lack of any critical thought. Also, why is it that these websites tend to be littered with misspellings, typographical errors, and grammatical mistakes? I’m just saying…

Now, in my opinion, we intelligent denizens have a responsibility to snuff out the less-cerebral that walk among us. Nothing violent or illegal, of course. But we need to devise a plan to keep them from littering the planet with their offspring. I suggest the promotion of economic Darwinism, as follows:

Find a believer in the 2012 doomsday scenario who, for inexplicable reasons, owns a home outright. A couple of months before the annihilation is scheduled to occur, offer to purchase their home for 50% of its appraised value. Allow them to rent the home back from you until the Big Day.

Explain that they will have the use of all that cash in the meantime to take exotic vacations, hire some hookers, and party like a rock star. You will be the fool, of course, for not believing in the coming destruction and missing out on the final chance to live it up.

On the Day After, begin the eviction process and place the house for sale at the market price. Wait for the next Doomsday cult. Rinse and repeat.

Ha ha ;) Very good idea? Maybe your idea will help re-invigorate the real estate market somehow!

My name is John. I have opinions about everything, especially about how to solve world problems. Most of my rants have to do with the runaway stupidity on this planet. If you don't agree with my views, that's OK - it's a free country (kinda). Just don't mistake this site for a democracy!
